hiva College and Stern College for Women Honors students are invited to
apply for "\;Restoring the American Story\,"\; an immersive\, on
ce-in-a-lifetime\, five-day seminar hosted by the Zahava and Moshael J.
Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought of Yeshiva University in hon
or of America'\;s 250th birthday. Under the leadership of Director Ra
bbi Dr. Meir Soloveichik\, students will explore the exceptional legacy
of America\, responsible citizenship\, and the indispensable role of Heb
raic ideas in the shaping of America.
Through private lectures an
d exclusive tours\, students will have the opportunity to learn about Am
erica through a singular lens\, one that blends the American and Jewish
experience together. Drawing on themes explored in Rabbi Dr. Soloveichik
’\;s \;Providence and Power: Ten Portraits in Jewish States
manship \;and \;Jewish Roots of American Liberty: The I
mpact of Hebraic Ideas on the American Story\, which features essay
s by Straus Center faculty\, the program highlights how Jewish ideas and
leaders have helped shape the moral and political foundations of the Un
ited States. Along the way\, students will engage with leading scholars
of this generation and meet like-minded peers from across the country\,
all coming together to celebrate America at this unique time.
