A Hero’s Celebration: The Life and Legacy of Ted Turner
On May 6, the world lost Ted Turner, an extraordinary innovator, entrepreneur, environmentalist, nuclear disarmament advocate, America’s Cup winner, and Explorers Club Medalist. We invite you to join us on Thursday, June 11 at The Explorers Club, for a private members-only evening celebrating Ted Turner and his remarkable and consequential journey. Location: The Explorers Club, 46 East 70th Street, New York City 6:00 PM – Reception 7:00 PM – Program 8:15 PM – Post-Program Reception Hosted by Explorers Club President Emeritus Richard Wiese, this will be a gathering of friends and admirers from the worlds of media, finance, diplomacy, and conservation who will share personal reminiscences and perspectives on Ted, his impact on the world and implications for our future. This event is cohosted by Leonard M. Levie of The Explorers Club and John Linnartz of the New York Yacht Club. As part of this evening program, we will be sharing a special musical tribute entitled The Call of Ted Turner, composed by L. M.
